Genealogy Information:
APL holds microfilm of the local paper as far back as 1874. Our in-house reader can be used to look up obits or other newsworthy information. If you would like staff to search for records, send your request to aulib@augustalibrary.org.
Please note the following guidelines when requesting a staff search:
- Search will take a minimum of one week to process.
- A self-addressed, stamped envelope is needed for staff to send out printed obits. At this time we are unable to send obits via email.
- Staff will need as much information as possible, i.e. first and last name, date of death.
Check our obit database for dates and listings prior to a detailed search.
